Tree works at the herdman in ewhurst
Works are being carried out up at the Herdman Pavilion to remove a number of trees deemed as dangerous. The Parish Council is committed to protecting its arboricultural assets through the positive management of trees on land owned and managed by the Parish Council. The Parish Council now arranges regular tree surveys resulting in the identification of trees that require arboricultural work and those requiring felling. Ewhurst Parish Council has a duty of care to manage its trees and that duty is governed primarily by factors affecting the safety of the public and property, the health of the tree and the risk of the spread of diseases. By having a regular report and continued maintenance of the trees it is hoped to minimise the requirement of any tree removal. The Parish Council has adopted a Tree Policy and supported a recent Tree Report from the Proper Officer.
staplecross playground refurbishment
The Parish Council has started the refurbishment of the playground area in Staplecross. Phase one has seen the installation of a new climbing frame paid for by Ewhurst Parish Council. Once the turf has taken plastic grass matting will be laid and then the equipment will be open for the public to use.
Phase two has see the removal of the old swing frames and seesaw. These have been replaced with a new set of toddler swings, a toddler climbing and play unit and a trampoline square.
Phase three will look at the additional needs and requirements of older children in the parish. The Parish Council will be looking to consult with the community for feedback on how we can further improve these facilities.
